EASL to transform Asian youth basketball landscape in collaboration with world-renowned Hong Kong-based nonprofit initiative.

Hong Kong SAR, November 7, 2025 — EASL today announced the launch of EASL Future Champions (EASL FC), a program set to rewrite what youth basketball will be across Asia. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups’ (HKFYG) “HKFYG Hustle 5” — the Jockey Club Believe & Bounce Basketball Programme initiative — EASL FC delivers a groundbreaking professional-standard training for young players at every skill level.

“Launching EASL Future Champions with HKFYG today is the start of bringing accessible, high-level coaching into districts so that every young player can have access and grow as a player and as a person,” EASL’s Chief Executive Officer Henry Kerins said. “This initiative also gives the top young talent in the region real exposure on a wider stage. We are honored to be partnered with HKFYG in this journey. We believe EASL Future Champions can raise the ceiling for Asian basketball and change what is possible for the next generation.”

The Jockey Club Believe & Bounce Programme, is a three-year HK$70.75 million initiative expected to benefit 32,000+ people, including 660+ coaches, delivered through NGO partners InspiringHK, BGCA, and HKFYG.

Future Champions was launched at a packed press conference at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel, drawing major media. The program featured remarks from EASL Chief Executive Officer Henry Kerins, Mr. Brandon Huang, Deputy Executive Manager, Charities at The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Ms. Siu Man, the Executive Director at HKFYG, who underscored the scale, access, and community impact of the partnership. A formal announcement and contract signing sealed the collaboration.”

EASL FC runs on two tracks. The grassroots track brings pro-level coaching to local districts, where coaches lead regular sessions that build fundamentals, confidence, and community while upskilling local coaches.

The elite track delivers advanced development, selection events, and a cross-border showcase for standout local players with peers from Macau and the Philippines. The elite portion begins April 2026 and provides real worldwide exposure, high-level competition, and a professional training environment.

EASL FC reimagines youth basketball in Asia by pairing professional-standard skill development with meaningful exposure, so promising players are seen, scouted, and supported. Built on teamwork, resilience, and community, the program develops the whole athlete on and off the court. This model is new to the region and raises the ceiling for young players everywhere.

With HKFYG’s “Hustle 5”, EASL turns today’s launch into action as Future Champions rolls out across Hong Kong, setting a new standard for youth sports throughout Asia.
